A fresh look and event management solution for Summer Screens open-air cinema
The team behind the successful, Cult Screens open-air cinema, a brand we have worked with for years, approached us to refresh the brand for 2019. Their new business strategy meant they needed a fresh look for the company and were relaunching as Summer Screens. The project required a full rebrand, visual identity and website.
Summer Screens had built a reputation over the years as a leading light within the open-air cinema space and wanted to build on their experience, pushing the company to the next level. They decided to focus on a more family orientated experience, aiming to tap into a much broader market. They needed a brand to reflect this alongside a new comprehensive website.
The brand we created reflected the more light-hearted feel, focusing more on the family-friendly aspect as opposed to the previous, more grown-up feeling Cult Screens experiences. We used this angle to develop an extensive brand identity from the ground up, including logo design, full visual identity, social media marketing assets and brand guidelines.
The website development was extensive. At the core of the website we created a bespoke event management system building a custom plugin that enables the team to create new events, edit dates and change any of the events to ‘sold out’ very easily. We included a multi purpose venue management system, meaning the web manager can easily add or edit venues as well as assign film showings to a venue at the click of a button. The versatile system allowed for efficient, streamlined multi event control with very little effort.
The site centres around a robust content management system and is future proofed to evolve, develop and grow alongside the company, easily integrating with the See Tickets selling platform.
Summer Screens have launched for the 2019 season with venues across the country.
